Valparai is the most prestigious and impressive hill resort bounded by mountains, meadows, pastures, valleys, grass lands and waterfalls located in the Coimabatoredistrict of Tamil Nadu.
About Valparai, an hill station of Tamil Nadu Valparai is a hill station and a well known tourist destination, located at about 105 km away from Coimbatore, in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is located at an altitude of about 3,500 feet above sea level on the Anamalai mountain range which is a part of the dense and majestic western ghats. You can see many Tea and Coffee plantations , dams, streams, lakes and water falls in the area along with 15 Tea Factories. In total Valparai gives you a beautiful and natural scenery with de nse forests all round. Vaalparai is cool and pleasant throughout the year. During monsoons it receives high rainfall and the climate is very suitable for tea, coffee, cardamom and cinchona.
Places to visit in Valparai, an hill station in Tamil Nadu Sholayar Dam is a beautiful and a deep dam located at about 20 kilometers from Valparai. This is the second largest Rock dam in the whole of Asia. Other places to see are Balaji temple, Pancha Mugha Vinayagar Kovil and the Tea estates which are all over the area. Azhiyar Park is situated on the banks of the Azhiyar Dam which is surrounded bby western ghats on three sides, Siddashram is located near Azhiyar Park. Monkey Falls is also known as Chinna Kutralam . Monkey falls ia located near the Siddashram on the way to Vaalparai from Azhiyar Dam. There are many people who visit the place regularly each year during holidays. Entry Fee Rs 20 per head Chinna Kallar is the second highest rainfall area in the whole of India and the area is always misty, awet and greenish. There is a waterfall which sounds like a Roaring Lion is also located here. Nirar Dam is located in a beautiful location and is covered by the dense forests on all sides. This a multi project dam and is in use for irrigation, power etc. Balaji temple, is in Valparai . You can see large number of tourists coming into pray to the God balaji. Bus Taxi and other vehicle facilities are available to visit Balaji Temple.
How to Reach Valparai? You can reach Coimbatore by air or rail and then travel through to Vaalparai by Road. There are 40 hairpin bends on the way to Valparai from Azhiyar and the road is full of scenic and picturesque .

Nearest Airports: Coimbatore, Chennai, Kochi, Madurai, Bangalore are the airports that are located closest to the Valparai . You can reach either Chennai, Kochi or Bangalore and then get connection flights to Madurai or Coimbatore airports. From Madurai and Coimbatore you can reach Valparai by Road.
