Age limit for TNPSC Group IV
The minimum age limit starts from 18 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years for the people who are not belonging to SCs, STs, BCs, DCs and BCMs and have not worked for 5 years service in the state or central government. Those who belong to SCs, STs, MBCs, DCs, BCs or BCMs and have passed P.U.C./H.S.C./Diploma or Degree do not have any maximum age limit.
Educational qualification required
The candidate must have passed S.S.L.C. Public examination or equivalent examination with the eligibility to get admission for higher secondary courses of studies or for the college courses. SSLC or equivalent certification is must for these posts.
For the post of typist- The candidate must have passed Government Technical Examination in Type writing with the following grades:
a. Higher or senior grade in Tamil and English OR
b. Higher or Senior grader in Tamil and Lower or Junior Grade in English
c. Higher or senior grade in English and Lower or Junior Grade in Tamil.
If the candidate has acquired intermediate grade, he or she should select junior grade column only as intermediate grade is not considered as equivalent to Senior Grade.
Computer qualification is necessary for the candidates who are applying for the post of Typist and Steno-Typist, Grade III. The candidates who have passed the 'Certificate course in Computer on Office Automation' certified by the Technical Education Department, are eligible to apply for the post.
Exam pattern for TNPSC Group IV
Written exam will be conducted for the posts. The single exam paper will be of objective type with two types. The 1st studies, Aptitude Test and General English. Another type of paper contains General Studies, Aptitude Test and General Tamil. Candidates can select from the both types.
Selection depends upon the marks obtained in the written examination and the post or unit selected by the candidate. Selection for the both posts will depend upon first on technical qualification grades. Senior of Higher grade in both Tamil and English will be given first preference. Candidates who are ITI qualified will be given higher preference. The exam paper contains General.
