The fast is to be observed on all sankatahara chaturthi throughout the year. Lord Ganesha will clear all obstacles if we observe this fast. Wake up early in the morning, take a bath, and light a lamp with ghee and offer flowers, banana and coconut milk if you are praying for your loved ones. Chant ganesha's name thrice or in multiples of three as number three is dear to pilaiyar. You can also chant ganapathi stothras.
