Tamil festival Navaratri's Sundal importance.
All Tamil festivals are celebrated in accordance with the celestial events. The nine days of Navaratri is dedicated to nine planets, which are believed to be controlling all human actions on earth. Our saints assigned a particular grain or pulse for each planet. These pulses are cooked and presented as Ninedhyam to god to get blessings of that planet and given out as prasadam on each day.
This is the reason behind the sundal prasadam on Tamil festival Navaratri days. Hope it will be useful information. Enjoy this Navaratri festival happily.
