Kalpana Chawla Award

This was the award that was given to the Mother and daughter who ran and caught the thieves in the road. This is the best award that would be given to the female in the case of will power of the ladies. This was given to the mother named Rajalaxmi and the daughter Shivaranjani who caught the thief who tried to steal their 10000 rupees by entering their house and when they were about to escape they were caught red handedly by these two. Hence a sum of about 5 lakhs were distributed to them.

1035 Awards Issued to the Students on the occasion of Independence Day 2012

There are various corporation offices in Tamil Nadu and there were lot of places where there were prizes issued to the students at various places. It was reported that about 1035 students were awarded prizes from various heads like counselors, Ministers at various cities of Chennai.

It was issued by the Mayor Saidai Duraisamy who is known for some welfare activities like free coaching classes for the students appearing in competitive exams. He was the one who hosted the flag in his city and he received the respect given by the students in the special occasion.

In the occasion he also gifted some prizes to various students who gave the hundred percentage attendance. He issued a cash prize of about 1000 rupees to those 1035 students and thereby spending some 1 lakh 35 thousand in this beautiful occasion. In this meeting the principal of the corporation school Karthikeyan, vice Principal Benjamin and Vijay Rajkumar also participated in this occasion in which the famous Saidai Duraisamy hosted the national flag.

In the Koyambedu fruit market the flag was hosted and the welfare activities for the people who are involved in these markets were also discussed by the sellers. The sellers also were taught about the importance of the trees. Some trees were also planted n this beautiful occasion by the sellers in the market itself.

The flag hosting of the Chennai Universities were conducted in Guindy it was conducted in the place called Maraimalar vazhagam. In this the company's Chief secretary Thiruvasagam hosted the flag and also distributed the sweets. The Flag Hosting for the medical University was conducted in Vepperi medical college and madhavaram medical college. In this the joint secretary of the college Prabhakaran hosted the flag and then the sweets were distributed in which all the students and staffs participated to make the meeting a grant success.
