Central Institute of Classical Tamil CICT doctoral PhD and Postdoctoral Fellowships 2012-2013

Central Institute of Classical Tamil is inviting application forms from eligible candidates to Doctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships for the academic year 2012-2013. Selected doctoral candidates is eligible montly Rs. 12,000/- fellowship for 2 years and 18,000/- per month for post doctoral candidates. Candidates are selected through written test and interview. Note that selected candidates should undertake their research works in the CICT campus only.

Eligibility criteria for Phd and Postdoctoral Fellowships in CICT Chennai 2012

CICT doctoral fellowships 2012

The candidate should have registered for Ph.D. in any recognized University or Institute.

He/She should have obtained a minimum of 55 marks (50 marks SC/ST category)in his PG degree (Literature, Linguistics, Anthropology, Sociology, Education, Archaeology, Epigraphy, Musicology, Performing Arts, Folklore, Philosophy, etc.)

Subject chosen for Ph.D. thesis should pertain to any area of scholarship relating to the period prior to6th A.D. Preference will be given to

Please note that Ph.D candidates should work on topics prior to 6th AD. Preference will be given to candidates working on Dravidian, Language Typology and Translation.

Maximum age limit is 30 years as on 16th August 2012. 3years relaxation OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates

CICT post doctoral fellowships 2012

Maximum age limit is 40 years of age as on 16th August 2012 (3 year relaxationw for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates).

If the candidates are in regular employment, they are not eligible to apply.
