Chidambaram Kattumannar Veeranarayana Perumal Temple festival 2012

After 4 years at Kattumannar Veeranarayana Perumal Temple festival was celebrated grandly. In Kattumannar Veeranarayana Perumal Temple ceremony such as Thirukalyanam conducted on May 4, flower blessing conducted on May 4 night and Chariot festival conducted on May 6. As there is no water available at Kattumannar Veeranarayana Perumal Temple teppam for past 4 years this festival has postponed.

This festival is celebrated at the tamil month Chithirai. This celebration is done only if there is water available in the months of May. For the past four years there is no water available at the month of May. So now this year the celebration and ceremony was done in grand manner. This celebration is about the marriage of Lord Perumal with godess Moodevi and Sreedevi. Festival was completed with visiting of VIP's such as Kattumannarkoil Assembly Member Mr.Murugumaran and Kattumannarkoil Panchyat leader Mr.MGR. Dasan.

Sri Muthumariamman temple located at Ulundurpettai near Ajeesh nagar celebrated its 72nd Ulundurpettai Chithirai festival. Many VIP's such as politicians and Police officers involved in this Ulundurpettai amman chithirai festival. Small games and competition were conducted among their village. Orathanadu Kaliamman Temple festival 2012

Orathanadu Kaliamman festival is conducted every year during the time of Chithirai Pournami (Full moon day in tamil month Chithirai). Devotional ceremony such as gathering milk pot, Kavadi ceremony were done by devotees. After that the people served free food (Annathanam) to the devotees gathered in the temple function. This festival is also called as Ragukala kaliamman festival.
