This article gives information about the most awaited Tamil films of year 2012. 2011 didn't see Rajni and Kamal films but 2012 have a chance for it. The following films are most awaited films in Kollywood that are going to be released in 2012.

Kochadaiyan

Kochadaiyan is an upcoming Rajini's 3D film directed by Soundarya Ashwin. A.R.Rehman is composing music for Kochadaiyan. Sneha is doing a supporting role and female lead yet to finalize. Cinematography is done by Rajiv Menon. Kochadaiyan may hit the screen in 2012.

Viswaroopam

Viswaroopam is an upcoming thriller bilingual film (Tamil & Hindi). Viswasroopam is directed by Kamal haasan and he himself acting as a hero. Pooja Kumar, Andrea performs female lead. First schedule of shooting started in Dec-11 in America and later European countries. Second schedule would be in Jordan.

Thuppakki

Ace director A.R.Murugados's upcoming movie is Thuppakki. Vijay is doing male lead and Kajal Aggarval is doing female lead in Thuppakki. Harris Jayaraj is the music director for Thuppakki.

Nanban

Nanban is an upcoming Tamil film directed by ace director Shankar. Nanban is a remake of Hindi film 3 idiots. Lead roles done by Vijay, Jeeva, Srikanth, Sathyaraj, Ileana. Harris Jayaraj composed music. Already the songs are hit. Nanaban is going to release for Pongal festival.

Billa 2

Billa 2 is an upcoming film of Tamil directed by Chakri Toleti. Tamil actor Ajith, Parvathy Omanakuttan doing male and female lead roles in Billa 2. The film is expected to release on Apr 2012. First schedule of shooting done in Hydrabad and Vizag and second schedule in Goa. Trailer of Billa 2 is expected to release on Feb 2012.

Maatraan

Maatraan is an upcoming film of successful director K.V.Anand. Surya is doing a lead role. KV Anand and Surya combination already rocked in Ayan. So expectation for this film is very high. Kajal Aggarwal is doing female lead. Harris Jayaraj is the music director of Maatraan.

Karikalan

Karikala is an upcoming film of actor Vikaram and directed by L.I.Kannan. Zarine Khan is doing female lead. Karikala is a period cum contemporary film. GV Prakash composed music for Karikalan.

Other than the above the following films are expected to be released in the year 2012.

1. Lingusamy's Vettai – Madhavan, Arya, Sameera Reddy, Amala Paul performed lead roles.
2. Dhanush's 3 – Ashwarya Dhanush directed 3. Shruti Hassan did female lead.
3. Saguni – Directed by Shankar dayal and lead roles are performed by Karthi, Pranitha
4. Aadhi Bhagavan – Directed by Ameer and lead roles are performed by Jayam Ravi, Neetu Chandra
5. Urumi – Directed by Santhosh Sivan and lead roles are performed by Arya, Prabhu Deva, Prithivraj, Genelia, Tabu, Vidhyabalan.
6. Irandam Ulagam – Directed by Selvaraghavan and lead roles by Arya, Anushka
7. Mugamoodi – Directed by Mysskin and lead roles by Jeeva, Narain, Pooja Hegde
8. Neethaane En Ponvasantham – Directed by Gautham Menon and lead roles by Jeeva, Samantha
9. Podaa Podi – Directed by Vignesh and lead roles by Simbu and Varalakshmi
10. Thaandavam – Directed by Vijay and lead roles by Vikaram, Anushka, Amy Jackson
11. Vada Chennai – Directed by Vetrimaaran and lead roles by Simbu, Rana, Hansika motwani, Deeksha
