Tiruvannamalai karthigai deepam festival 2011 ended grandly with lot of devotees. There was live telecast of tiruvannamalai deepam festival by several TV channels. Devotees got the blessings of lord siva peacefully by visiting the Maha Deepam torched at Tiruvannamalai

Karthigai Deepam Festival
was started grandly on 8th December 2011 at 4pm. This deepam was popularly called as Barani deepam in Tiruvannamalai.
Tiruvannamalai Maha deepam
one which located on the top of the Annamalaiyar temple hill was torched exactly at 6pm. There is a
live telecast of tiruvannamalai deepam
on several TV channel such as
Tamil Sun TV
, Jaya Tv, Sankara Tv,
Vijay TV
and much more local channels in each area.
All sannathis in Annamalaiyar temple that include Vinayagar temple, Murugan Valli temple, Siva - Sakthi temple were devoted by Barani Deepam. Minister of Tamilnadu Agri Krishnamoorthy, Senkotaiyan, Kokila Indira, Sellur Raju and Paranjothi attended this Barani deepam festival. This time more than 10 lacs people visited this Barani deepam which was 30% more crowd than previous time. All peoples visited this temple satisfied by the service provided by Temple workers. Special bus trips were arranged by Tamilnadu government made the devotes much happier. There was special
train trips from Chennai and Pondicherry
on 7th and 8th December. This festival was accomplished successfully without any violence. Police crews headed by Sylendrababu with crew members include four DIG, 16 SP and police force includes 10,000 members gave tight security against theft and controlling the crowd.
