Introduction about Vellore Institute of Technology University
The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is one of the famous private Universities in Tamil Nadu. The VIT was established in the year 1984 with former name of Vellore Engineering College. Then it was renamed as VIT in the year 2001. This university is located in Vellore which is a famous city near to Chennai. Dr.G.Viswanathan who he is the founder and chancellor of this university. The university has good infrastructural facility in all aspects with state art of technology. There are more than 20,000 students are studying in this university with the staff strength of around 2,000. The university is widely spread over 350 acres of land. The VIT has also been accredited by NAAC, UGC, NBA and AICTE.  The university has good strength of NRI students. The VIT also offers many engineering courses and technology courses in its discipline. The university also has fully dedicated staff and separate Hostel facilities for both Men and Women. The good placement cell of this University makes the opportunity to the students to get placement in various Multi-National IT Companies like Wipro, TCS, HP,Infosys and IBM. Various curricular and Co-curricular activities like NSS, NCC, Youth Red cross and Sports facilities are available in the university campus. The University also has good transport facility to pick up the students from various places to its campus.
The VIT university Engineering admissions 2012-2013
The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) announced the admission notification of Engineering courses for the academic year 2012-2013. The admission will be done by conduction the common Engineering Entrance Examination. Every year this entrance exam is being conducted by VIT for the engineering admission. The students will be sort listed and selected by the over all rank of this entrance exam.
The date and time of VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE-2012)
The VIT Engineering Entrance Examination VITEEE-2012 for Undergraduate Engineering courses in various branches like Computer Science and Engineering(CSE), Electrical and Electronics Engineering(EEE), Electrical and communications Engineering(ECE), Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering etc.. will be held on 21 st April 2012, Saturday from 2.30 PM to 5.00 PM in the University campus. 
The VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE 2012) application forms and important dates
The application form for the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination VITEEE 2012 can be obtained from the University by handing over a Demand Draft of rupees 950.00 in person or by sending the Demand Draft of rupees 950.00 in favour of "VIT university" payable at Vellore. The applications are also available in various post offices and banks in various states all over the country. The application forms will issued from 5th of December, 2011 in person and postal.
The application form can also be downloaded from the university website and filled in applications can be sent to the University by enclosed Demand Draft of rupees 950.00
The filled in applications should reach the University on or before 5th of February, 2012
