All shops closed today due to FDI Strike in Tamilnadu

Tamilnadu shops bundh today for against FDI approval made by central government of India. Retailers and shopkeepers decided to strike and fast against the action made by central government. Also read this article to know what is FDI.

What is FDI

Foreign direct investment (FDI) refers to the investment made by foreign countries in own countries. For Example: Vodafone service provider is UK based country invested and built their company in India. Now Indian Central government has approved foreigners to invest their money on retail business.

Bandh in Tamilnadu all shops closed today

Retail shops in Tamilnadu conducts bandh against the central government decision for allowing Foreign direct investment (FDI) in retail investments. Thus there will be strict police protection across Tamilnadu. Central government has decided to allow FDI (அன்னிய முதலீடூ) in retail business and so the retailers across the state opposed this statement. TN Chief Minister Jayalalitha supported retail business by making an announcement that foreign companies will be banned in Tamilnadu. Moreover Tamilnadu trade association chairman vikkiramaraja announced state bundh for all business. There will be strike, fasting conducted in all city corporations of Tamilnadu as per the announcement made by Trade Association Chairman.

Political parties opposition to FDI

Political parties in Tamilnadu were purely against FDI in TN retail business. Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, DMK leader Karunanidhi, DMDK leader Vijayakanth, PMK leader Ramakrishnan, INC seceratry Pandian, MDMK general Vaiko, BJP leader Radhakrishnan were against anniya muthalitu in Tamilnadu. Many political leaders supported the opposition to FDI. In Tamilnadu all the retail businessman supported this bundh except Tamilnadu hotel sangam.

Hotels will be opened in Tamilnadu

Leader of Hotel association K.T.Sinivasaraja supports this stike against FDI. But they announced the hotels will be opened as usual. It affects people who depends on hotel food service if the hotels were closed. There will be no Tea shops opened. Police officer announced that Participating in Bundh is purely depended on individual and no one should force the retail businessman to either open or close the shop. There will be strict action taken against the people who does mischievous activity.
