IIT Madras latest notification on Post Doctoral Fellowships 2012 Chennai, Tamilnadu

IIT Madras is inviting applications for doing Post Doctoral Fellowships (PDF) at the campus. Please note that the research work during the PDF period can be in him own area of interest. There is NO LAST DATE FOR RECEIVING APPLICATIONS, they are received throughout the year.

Fellowship Amount: Rs.30,000 - 35,000 pm Consolidated
Accommodation: Campus accommodation will be provided based on availability.
Contingency Grant: Sum of Rs.1,00,000 per annum will be provided for research purposes.
Duration: 2 years, extendable upto one more year(based on the progress and the recommendation of the Department).

Eligibility fot PDF in IIT Madras 2012

Candidates who are applying post doc in IIT Madras should have a PhD Degree or he/she should have submitted their thesis for the PhD degree in respective disciplines
He/she should have good academic record consistently can apply for the PDF positions.
Maximum time limit is 5 years after completion of Phd.
After joining he/she will be doing independent research at the Institute. They will be attached to department faculty member who acts as a collaborator.
Age Limit: The maximum age to apply post doc in IIT Madras is 35 years (+ 5 years for women and reserved category).

The filled up application form should have the following enclosures:
a) A two page write-up on the intended Research work at IITM.
b) At least two letters of recommendations / reference from peers regarding the research capabilities and other attributes.
c) No objection certificate / relief certificate from the present employer (if currently employed)
d) Photocopies of the Degree certificates.
e) Photocopies of two best journal papers.

Invitation for interview will be sent by the respective departments if found suitable after scrutinizing the application.
