Tamilnadu Government to issue smart card

Government of Tamilnadu has decided to issue smart cards for Tamilnadu students studying in government schools. In the first phase they have decided to issue smart cards for all government higher secondary Schools. It is calculated that Tamilnadu has got 2,234 government higher secondary schools, 543 government aided schools, 2,388 government secondary schools, 1,044 government aided secondary schools. Among them 60 lacks students were studying. Tamilnadu government has decided to issue the smart cards as soon as possible.

What is Smart Card

Smart card contains details about name, parents name, family details, their scores in school, disciplinary action, including an interest in the game information is maintained as record in it. These information are automated and they can be access through this smart cards.

Uses and benefits of Smart Card

Smart card contains unique number and can use as proof.
No need for T.C(Transfer Certificate) if a student got his smart card.
Easily access information of that student using smart card.
Attendance can be taken through this smart card by sweeping in sweep machine.
Can access information of a particular student from any where in Tamilnadu.
Health condition of a student can be recorded in Smart card.

Smart cards in Tamilnadu

Tamilnadu government has now decided to finish this smart card project as soon as possible. Already, Central government has issued smart cards for several schools. All students in Gujurat has got their smart card and was convenient in using that. To make this smart card feature in Tamilnadu some of the experts from Tamilnadu went to Gujarat to gain knowledge. This plan, if implemented, all the practical problems of education that exists can be neglected.
