Date of Graduate aptitude test examination GATE 2012 announced

The most popular GATE examination 2012 will be held on 29th January, 2012 (online) and 12th February, 2012 (offline). Large number of students across the country waiting for appearing in the examination. The said examination will be jointly conducted by the Indian institute of sciences and all Indian institute of technology on behalf of Ministry of Human Resource Development. The IIT Delhi is given the overall responsibility of conducting the GATE fairly and freely. This time not as conventional method of selling forms can be had from any outlet instead the students are advised to go through the online registration process.

Eligibility of appearing in the GATE 2012

  • The candidate those who are willing to appear in the GATE 2012 should have passed the graduation in any engineering stream or presently studying in the final year of their graduation.
  • Students who have passed the master degree in any branch of science, mathematics, statics, computer Applications or in the final year also eligible for appearing for the GATE 2012


  • Important dates of GATE 2012

  • Online submission of application for the GATE 2012 - 12th September, 2011
  • Last date for online submission of application - 17th October, 2011
  • Last date for the receipt of printed form of application - 24th October, 2011
  • The printable form of admit can be had from the website from 2nd January, 2012
  • The date of online examination is on 29th January, 2012 and offline examination will be held on 12th February, 2012
  • The result will be declared on 15th March, 2012


  • Cost of application & Venues for the GATE 2012
    The said examination will be held in all seven IIT campus in India and the Indian institute of science, bangaluru. The applications costs RS 1000/- and for reserved category it is only Rs 500/-
