About Samacheer Kalvi

Samacheer Kalvi or uniform school education is a program introduced by Tamilnadu government to follow same syllabus over all schools in Tamilnadu. There were many partitions of schools with different syllabus for Matric, state board and Anglo Indian. This scheme purpose is to make same quality syllabus which can stop discrimination based on economy, caste, religion and background for all school boards in Tamilnadu.

Samacheer Kalvi implementation

At first Tamilnadu chief minister Ms.J.Jayalalitha's Government opposed implementation of Samacheer kalvi regarding quality. But now the supreme court has ordered to implement Uniform school education within August 16, 2011. This case extended for such a long time because AIADMK government claimed that it lacks in quality and it was a politically motivated activity. Now this Samacheer kalvi is welcomed and ordered to follow as soon as possible. This Uniform education system was introduced not only to improve the standard of syllabus but also to improve the school standard and ratio between school and teacher. This Samacheer Kalvi is to be implemented for the classes 1st standard to 10th standard from the academic year (2011-2012). Before the implementation of samcheer kalvi every school prescribed the fees they like reasoning that they are providing standard education when compared to other schools. As Uniform school education is to be started soon the fees structure was also be revised by Government of Tamilnadu for all school in this state.
