Lady doak women’s college is the first womens college in Madurai established in the year 1948. This college became Autonomous college in the year 1978. This college is affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University. This college is top ranked womens college in Madurai. This college was founded by an American missionery Ms. KATIE WILCOX. It is best arts college for Arts, Science and Business in Madurai district. This college introduced many new courses other than normal courses available in arts college. This college is ISO 9001:2008 certified college. All the courses in this college are accredited by NAAC – A grade. This proves that it is a best arts college in Madurai.

This college has hostel facility with well integrated rooms. It has automated library facilities for the benefit of students. Well equipped sports facility with separate ground for each sports. To get admission in LDC you need to pass all subjects in higher secondary. If you score more than 65% of total marks in 12th standard you can get seats easily. There will be more competition to enter this college. But the basic eligibility is that you need to pass all subjects in 12th standard.
Admission in LDC for PG courses
Students who passed B.A. / B.Sc. (Special), B.com can apply to PG course in LDC. Some courses like M.Phil. English, M.A. Tamil, M.A. English, M.Sc. Mathematics requires 60% of marks to be scored in Under Graduate course.

They intake only students who scored more marks. This is one of the oldest arts college in Tamilnadu. This buildings in this college were like French style buildings. These buildings remembers the old Madurai city.
