About Velammal College of Engineering and Technology , Madurai
Velammal college of Engineering and Technology in Madurai was established in the year 2007. This college is affiliated to to Anna university Tirunelveli for 2009 to 2013 batch and currently it is affiliated to new Anna University Madurai. It is emerging as a best engineering college in Madurai. This college ranks 6th among Anna university Tirunelveli affiliated college and it ranks 1st among Anna university Madurai . Presently this college ranks first in Madurai and it is Best self financing college in Madurai. This college is approved by AICTE and accreditation of courses is still going on. Presently no courses were accredited in this college. As it is new college only few departments that have high value are available. At present there were 6 Under graduate courses and 5 PG courses. This is non minority institute and the principal of this college is Dr. N. Suresh Kumar, M.E.,Ph.D., Students with cut off marks greater than 187 can get seats through government quota in this college.

 Hostel facility in college is nice with separate hostel for boys and girls. This college has well integrated transport facility with more than 25 buses that connects all areas in Madurai. Canteen and mess facilities are available inside the campus which provides Veg/Non-veg. Special training in Sports, gym is available. Service such as National Service Scheme is available. Placement in Velammal College of Engineering and Technology is good. More than 145 candidates in their first batch were placed. 2011 set was the first batch in this college and it is expected more candidates would be placed this year.
