    This article gives the details about Famous Temples in Srivilliputhur Tamilnadu. There are many popular temples in this city and the tourists visits this place regularly for their worship.     Famous Temples in Srivilliputhur Tamilnadu


    Srivilliputhur is a famous pilgrim destination located in Tamilnadu. This place is the worship centre for the Sri Vaishnavas. It has an ancient temple for Vishnu in the reclining pose dedicated to Vatapathrashayi. The huge Srivilliputhur andal temple tower at the entrance is 64metres high with eleven tiers beautifully sculptured. This temple qualifies for the being called a grand temple and the Srivilliputhur temple tower is the tallest tower in the country.

    The biggest tank and a huge chariot, larger than the Tiruvarur temple chariot. Srivilliputhur is also the birth place of the saint Poet Andal, who is considered as one of the Alwars. The main shrines in the temple are dedicated to Andal, Periathuvadi Narasinga Perumal and Vatapathra Sayanar. Srivilliputhur will forever be remembered by the state emblem of Tamilnadu.
    Srivilliputhur temple timings: 6:30am –12:00noon and 4:00pm-9:00pm.

    Vaidyanatha Swamy Temple in Srivilliputhur Tamilnadu


    On the outskirts of Srivilliputhur town is a hoary shrine dessicated to Shiva popularly called Vaidyanatha. This temple too has a tall tower at the main entrance which is 45 metres high. The two huge towers at this town present a magnificent view to the visitors.

    Kazhugumalai Temple in Srivilliputhur Tamilnadu


    The distance of Kazhugumalai Temple from Srivilliputhur town is just 2km. This is a rock-cut temple situated on a small hillock. This shrine is dedicated to Lord Muruga and Vinayakar. This place is also called as Kazhagachalam. The tourist crowd will be more during the month if Karthikai Tamil month.

    Sankaran Kovil Temple in Srivilliputhur Tamilnadu


    Sankaran Kovil is located at the distance of 45km from Srivilliputhur city. This temple is said to have been built by Vikrama Pandyan, the unique features of this temple is that the deity in the shrine is called as Sankaranarayana, a synthesis of Shaivism and vaishnavism. Half of the main idol has the features of Shiva as Sankara, while the other half represents Vishnu as Narayana.
