Dr.Sivanthi Aditanar College of Engineering was founded by Padma Shri Dr. B. Sivanthi Adityan who is a well known personality. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and it is affiliated to Anna University of Technology, Tirunelveli. The library of Dr.SACOE is situated in the Administrative block and it has two floors. Ground floor is used as lending section and the 1st floor is used as reference and e-journal section. All the activities of the library are monitored with a software called 'LIBSOFT'. The library works on all working days from 8.30am to 6.30pm. The library has a lot of books for all departments of the college.

The college has an active placement cell which aims in preparing the students to face interviews. Several training programmes are conducted every year for the benefit of students. There are various companies visiting every year to the campus for recruiting students. In the academic 2009-2010, nearly 111 students got placed in various MNC's.
