    Coimbatore Tamilnadu Tourism


    Coimbatore city is famous for textile mills and tourism. Coimbatore is popularly called Manchester of South India. Coimbatore and its surrounding areas are evergreen due to the regular monsoon and the river called Noyyal enriches the whole complete district. This is one of the largest cities of Tamilnadu. This beautiful city is getting tourist throughout the year from all over India and this is the gate way for the neighboring states Kerala and Karnataka.

    Botanical Garden in Coimbatore Tamilnadu


    Coimbatore Botanical Garden is situated in a corner of the city near the campus of agricultural college and research institute. This is the very old, nearly hundred years old botanical garden in Coimbatore. It is very famous for its beautiful lay out. Coimbatore Botanical Garden was started in the year 1908 and it was developed into a modern Horticultural Park in Coimbatore. There are nearly 700 species of plants and trees in the garden, most of them being of ornamental value. The Sunken garden, a cascading waterway, Japanese ornamental garden, topiary garden and a paddling pool are the main tourist attractions in Coimbatore Botanical Garden.

    Lower Bhavani Dam in Coimbatore


    The distance of Lower Bhavani Dam from Coimbatore is 70km. This is one of the major irrigation projects of the state. The reservoir called Bhavani sagar, created across the river Bhavani covers a vast area. The Lower Bhavani Dam traversing a length of 8km. In this reservoir also, a cruise by motor launch is a rewarding experience. The Shiva temple of Sangameshwara is situated at the confluence of the river Cauvery with Bhavani which is a popular place of worship. Situated amidst beautiful natural surroundings, and it forms an excellent place for picnic near Coimbatore. There is a rest house at the dam site for overnight stay.

    Amaravati Dam Coimbatore


    Amaravati Dam is located in the distance of 85km from Coimbatore. This dam is situated in Udumalpet taluk. The dam has been built in the joining point of plains and the surrounding hill. The nearest forest of Amaravati Dam is the habitat for many wild animals. Amarvathi Nagar is the nearest place, where tourist can get their accommodation.

    Tourism in Tirupur near Coimbatore Tamilnadu


    The distance of Tirupur from Coimbatore is 50km. Tirupur one of the most popular places for textile and hosiery industry. This city has now become the home of exporting products to other countries. Important places to visit in Tirupur are Sivanmalai, Kangana giri temple, Valai Thottathu Ayyan temple, Mettuparai Vinayagar Temple and Avinashi appar temple.

    Tourism in Pollachi near Coimbatore Tamilnadu


    The distance of Pollachi from Coimbatore is 40km. This is the next nearest town of coconut groove, developed into a leading commercial centre. It also serves as a halting place for tourists who visit the interior places of interest in the area.

    The other important places to visit near Coimbatore are Thirumurthy temple, Kanniyamman temple, Maruthamalai temple, Avinasi shiva temple,Palani temple, Indira Gandhi wild life sanctuary etc.
