Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering (DCE) is one of the best Engineering Colleges in Tamilnadu which was established in the year 2001. Dr.V.P.Ramamurthi, former professor of Anna University is the Founder and Managing Trustee of Dhanalakshmi Educational Trust. This institution aims to serve the student community to its best. DCE is thus a prestigious institution which is known for its quality Engineering Education that enables the students to develop in the technological field making them creative engineers. The College campus is located in the industrialized area Manimangalam in Chennai which is well-connected to all the areas in Chennai.

Infrastructure of Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering
The DCE college campus is beautiful with well laid roads and separate buildings for each departments. The college is located in a very quiet and pleasant place. There are separate blocks for each departments which are as follows:
• Humanities and Sciences block
• Computer Science & Engineering block
• Electronics & Communication Engineering block
• Electrical & Electronics Engineering block
Each block contains large ventilated and spacious class rooms, laboratories, staff rooms, modern auditorium, library, seminar hall, rest rooms, toilets etc.
There is a well furnished ventilated library with more than 8000 books. The DCE library also subscribes both national and international journals, magazines and periodicals in various subjects.
The DCE computer centre is also well-designed and the students can access the internet for hours. The Electrical and electronics laboratory is well-equipped and contains the DC machines, transformers and AC machines. Thus students use the latest electronic gadgets independently.
The DCE worshop is very big and spacious and contains the following sections:
• carpentry section
• fitting section
• welding section
• smithy section
• foundry section
• sheet metal section
There are also tools such as bench drilling machine, foundry equipments, sheet metal tools, grinding machine, etc. for the benefits of the students.
Hostel facilities in Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering
 The college provides separate hostels for boys and girls. Each room contains separate cots, cupboards, tables, chairs and coat stands for the students. The hostel students have the facility of accessing the library and internet whenever they find time. The other facilities available are as follows:
• A standby diesel generator for uninterrupted power supply
• Water treatment plant to provide safe drinking water
• A dispensary for treating the students who are sick

• 24 hrs internet connection

Placement cell in Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering
The DCE contains a Training and Placement Cell which functions effectively to train the students. The faculties in this placement cell train the student according to the needs of the industries.
