Kanyakumari known to be India's 'Land end' is located at the southern most tip surrounded by the three vast water bodies(i.e.)Indian Ocean,Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea.Kanyakumari got its name from the devotee of Lord shiva named 'Kumari',a virgin girl known to be incarnation of goddess 'Paarvathi'.She did a great ritual and meditation to marry Lord Shiva.The most famous thing about kanyakumari is that it stands top in the percentage of literates in the state and is a great spot for tourist attraction.

Kanyakumari Beach

The most popular beach called in the name of the Kumari said to be the incarnation of the Hindu goddess 'Paarvathi' as explained above.This beach is the famous place and is a tourism spot because of the Sunset and Sunrise especially on the Full Moon day.This beach has a wonderful sight and has many places of Historical specialty like Mahatma Gandhi Memorial,Bhagavathi Amman Temple, Vivekanandha Rock Memorial, magnificent Thiruvalluvar statue etc. This beach is also famous for the multi-coloured sands over the beach.This beach will have the roars of waves striking the rocks always.This is a very great place for the 'Shell collectors'.

The thing to note here is that,this beach is not entertained for having Sunbath in the soft sands and it is also not advised to bath here or to move across the man made wall which may be of great risk.This beach consists of the different types of algae near the rocks and at the end of the shore.
Anyway it is a great Picnic spot.This beach has many resources within it and makes every tourist to rejoice. There are many shops and stores which sells many decorative items made from Sea shell,Fancy shops and is providing
their best in attracting Tourists towards them.There are also appropriate transport facilities to reach this destination.The Kanyakumari Beach is best
in its kind and occupies the top tourist spot to be visited in the city.There
are also boating facilities for travelling from shore to Thiruvalluvar Statue and Vivekanandha Rock Memorial.

Sangathurai Beach

This beach provides great amusement to the tourists and is located at a distance of about 10 Kms from the city of Nagarcoil.The beach is somehow safe for bathing and playing around the great sands. A disgusting fact about the beach is that there is a lack of facilities and infrastructure.But the happy fact which is going on now is the project for the building of Children's park, Seating facilities and other shops for the welfare of tourists.

Here the surrounding people and children usually enjoy things like flying of kite and playing cricket along the shores and its a great pleasure in watching them.

Sothavilai Beach

This is one of the famous beaches in Kanyakumari.This beach is located at a distance of about 10 Kms from the Kanyakumari.This beach is famous for the very clear and calm waters, so that one can see even the bottom of the sea.This beach consists of white sand and is a great amusement for the tourists.This beach is now renowned to the better level after the great Damage caused due to Tsunami few years back.

This tourist destination is going to be great after the renovation of this place.This place has a rich natural view.

Muttom beach

This beach will always be seen with a bunch of tourists wandering around the shore everyday.These beach is rich in natural architecture.

This beach is very famous for the century old light house built during the British rule in India. This beach is located at a distance of about 32 Kms from Kanyakumari.This beach looks very great because of the presence of beautiful land scape and the high lying rocks dipping into the water.This beach is also famous for the pleasant view of the Sunset.This is also a great place for enjoying the vacation.This awesome location attracts the photographers much.
