Mahabalipuram in Tamilnadu

Mahabalipuram the beautiful tourist destination situated near the capital of Tamilnadu Chennai. There are many entertaining facilities here, including the pretty sandy beach. Tirukkalukkundram in Tamilnadu

The distance of Tirukkalikundram from Mahabalipuram is located 14km. There is an ancient Shiva temple with a lofty tower at this place. Very near to Shiva temple, a place called vedagiri is situated. This place also famous for Shiva temple located on a hillock, the height is 162 m. It is beleived that two kites visit this temple regularly to feed the Prasadam. At the south east, there is a small tank, which supply holy water for the Shiva devotes. It is believed that Once in 12 years, a Shankha (conch) comes out of the tank according to the local Tamil tradition. A number of such conchs gathered in the previous years are noted at the temple.

Thiruporur Murugan Temple in Tamilnadu

The distance of Thiruporur from Mahabalipuram is 16km. The very famous temple dedicated to Lord Muruga is situated in this place. There are some historical paintings on the walls as well as some important sculptures in Thiruporur Murugan Temple.

Sadras Dutch Fort in Tamilnadu

The distance of Sadras from Mahabalipuram is 16kms. An old fishing village on the sea shore which was once a Dutch settlement. A huge fort having 14 beautifully cut tomb stones are the main attraction of Sadras Dutch Fort situated in Tamilnadu.

Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary Tamilnadu

The distance of Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary Kancheepuram from Mahabalipurm is 60km. This is one of the beautiful bird sanctuaries in India. This is the best place to see different types of migratory birds. The beautiful green surrounding and environment gives favorable living condition for the birds. During season time the migratory birds built their nest in a tree. The nestling colony of birds is really an interesting fact to see in Vedanthangal. Best time to visit Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary is from August to March.
