Bharathiar University State Eligibility Test SLET 2011 notification

Bharathiar University Tamilnadu will be conducting the State Eligibility Test (SET) in the month of August. The test is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Lecturers in Various universities and colleges in Tamilnadu. Eligible candidates can apply for the post of Lecturer by filling up the online application form along with the Admission card, Attendance Slip, Computer coding sheet and send it through post along with a Demand Draft. Eligibility criteria for Tamilnadu State Eligibility Test SLET 2011

• Candidates who had completed their PG course are eligible to apply for SLET 2011.

• 55% aggregate marks in Master's degree is also required to qualify for appearing the SLET 2011 exam.

• Candidates who are Sc, ST, Physically challenged and Visually challenged are required to get an aggregate of 50% marks in their Master's degree to be eligible for writing the exam.

• Candidates who are in the final year of their Master's degree are also eligible to apply for the SET 2011 exam.

• Candidates have to appear for SET in the subject that they had studied in their Master's degree only.

• No upper age limit is set for SET 2011 exam.

How to apply for Tamilnadu State Eligibility Test SLET 2011

• Candidates should duly fill in the application form that can be downloaded online at the Bharathiar university official website.

• Application form should accompany the Admission card, Attendance Slip and Computer coding sheet which can also be downloaded at the university website.

• All the forms should be neatly filled with a ball point pen.

Tamilnadu State Eligibility Test SLET 2011 Exam fees details

• A Demand Draft with the prescribed amount should be attached along with the forms and sent to the prescribed address.

• The demand draft along with all the above forms should be sent to the University address which is given below.

• Exam fees will not refunded under any circumstances.

SET 2011 Exam Fees for general candidates: Rs.1000
SET 2011 Exam Fees for backward classes : Rs.750
SET 2011 Exam Fees for SC, ST, Physically Challenged, Visually Challenged candidates: Rs.250.

• The DD should be drawn in favour of "The Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-641046" and should be payable at Coimbatore.

Tamilnadu State Eligibility Test SLET 2011 Exam Paper details

The Tamilnadu SET 2011 exam consists of 3 papers namely paper1, paper2 and paper3. All the three papers are conducted on the same day on 14th August 2011. Paper1 and paper2 will be in first session and paper3 will be in second session.

Time: 9.30 AM to 10.45 AM
Total Marks - 100
60 multiple choice questions of 2 marks each.
Candidates are required to answer only 50 questions.
Paper 1 consists of
• General Awareness
• Aptitude on teaching research
• Reasoning ability
• comprehension divergent thinking

SET 2011 Paper 2
Time: 10.45 AM to 12.00 PM
Total Marks - 100
50 objective type questions with one mark each.
Paper 2 consists of
• Objective type questions

SET 2011 Paper 3
Time: 1.30 PM to 04.00 PM
Total Marks - 100
Paper 2 consists of
• Descriptive type questions from the subject selected by the candidate.

Minimum qualifying marks to be taken in each paper for SET 2011 exam

• Candidates who do not appear for Paper 1 will not be allowed to sit for Paper 2 and paper 3.

• Candidates should obtain minimum qualifying marks in Paper 1 and 2 in order to be eligible for writing Paper 3 exam.
