    Keerai Vadai


    Tamilnadu special Keerai vadai is one of the variety of vadai that can be prepared as snacks during evenings. Children would like it very much as it is very much different from the traditional vadai that is prepared in homes. It tastes good and is also very nutritious and easy to prepare. It takes just 30 minutes to prepare this recipe which can be tried at home very easily. Try this to have a different kind of snack at home.

    Ingredients required to make Keerai Vadai


    Channa dal - 1 cup
    Toor dal - 3/4 cup
    Urad dal - 1/4 cup
    Raw rice - 4 tsp
    Keerai(anyone) cut into pieces - 1 cup
    Red chilly - 4 nos
    Asafoetida - 1 tsp
    Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
    little water to sprinkle while grinding
    oil to fry
    Salt to taste

    Procedure for making Keerai Vadai


    keerai vadai1. Channa dal, Toor dal and Urad dal and rice has to be soaked in water for and hour.

    2. Remove the water and add red chillies and grind it to the level of making vada.

    3. You can use little amount of water while grinding the mixture.

    4. To the mixture add keerai, asafoetida and cumin seeds and mix well.

    5. Take the small amount of the ingredient and make it as a ball. Then spread the ball in your palm and pat it flat to get the shape and size of vadai.

    6. Dip the vadas in heated oil and deep fry.

    7. Remove the vadas from the oil when they turn golden brown in color.

    8. Serve hot

    The Keerai vadai can be taken as such without any side dish or it can be taken with any type of chutney as per individual wish.
