On 13th May Tamilnadu voters has put DMK party into darkness and the party symbol rising sun failed to rise. Many say DMK defeat in 2011 elections was predicted long back but no one thought they can win only 24 seats. The present situation is a perfect resemblance on 1991 assembly elections where they managed to wing only 1 seat that too with a slender majority. Many factors such as Congress + AIADMK alliance and many thought that DMK party has a hand in murder of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi even though they had no hand in that killing. In 1991, DMK party was accused of something they did not and paid the cause which is nothing to do with them. That is politics and purely bad luck

But after 20 years i.e in 2011 DMK situation is exactly opposite, they paid their debt. Personally I feel these election results are Karunanidhi defeat rather than Jayalalitha's triumph victory. Many factors effected DMK defeat in 2011 assembly elections results such as Raja 2G spectrum, Power Cut, too much family interference, dominating cine world, fishermen shooting, Freebies. Often I heard that DMK leaders saying "people wants a change"! My question is "Why did people wants a change even in the same government?", Or are they saying that they are worthless?

Power cut: DMK political power cut has much thing to electricity power cut in the sate. This was an main instrument to bring AIADMK into power in Tamilnadu. It should be observe that there are certain places where power supply was available only for few hours daily. The situation reminded me Africa where people get power only once in a week that too only for 2 hours.

Family Interference: DMK is all about the family rule. Karunanidhi second wife Rajathy Ammal, son Alagiri from Madurai and daughter Kanimozhi acted like separate ruling administration in all levels in Tamilnadu. I feel that it is just like re-cycling, the power always lies in their DMK hands and never lets others to join them. Is this the generation of dictatorship?? Most of the schemes implemented by DMK government is only with the interest of family members. In Karunanidhi`s five year tenure he promoted his son as Deputy Chief Minister, another son as Central Minister, daughter as MP.

Most of the seats in M K Alagiri Madurai has lost to AIADMK allies and got major blow to Alagiri's ambitions. Even Karunanidhi's calculations went wrong as Stalin himself was struggling to win.

Raja 2G spectrum: Swan telecom had allegedly Mr Raja a Rs. 214-crore, that was again transferred to Kalaignar TV channel in Chennai which is owned mainly by Kanimozhi and Dayalu Ammal. CBI named Kanimozhi as a co- conspirator with A Raja. People were fed-up with the DMK government already and after the 2G spectrum case, the situation became more clear and it became clear road to AIADMK.
