Akshaya Trust for the homeless and mentally retarded needy people of Madurai, Tamilnadu
Akshaya Trust by Krishnan is really a boon for the poor people of Madurai, who are left out without any option in life and die on the streets of Madurai, without any care from their family members and relatives for whom this trust provides home and food through this nonprofit organization.
Founder of Akshaya Trust is Krishnan of Madurai who came up with this nonprofit organization in 2002 when he was just 21 years old who had finished his graduation in hotel management, it could be very difficult for many to start doing service instead of settling down with a job as soon graduation is completed like what Krishnan did in his actual life.
Krishnan started serving people by feeding them food, whom he found were left out at the streets of Madurai uncared for by their family members and people who were mentally retarded, which he has taken as the Mission of Akshaya Trust, this all begun when Krishnan was actually touched by an incident which he could not believe, he saw an old man eating his own waste out of hungry which triggered an alarm for him.
Krishnan finds immense pleasure in feeding this kind of people and takes care of them very well by bathing them and doing haircut for them, which was initially funded by the salary he earned in 2003 from which he could only feed around 30 such deserving people in Madurai which has grown in number at present as he serves around 425 people thrice a day.
Free home facility for the needy women at Madurai is also under construction by Krishnan, which is all carried out in full compliance under the law and required formalities like accounts and reporting are also taken care in a transparent manner.
