    Power cut to be extended in Tamilnadu in coming months

    Tamilnadu Electricity board had announced that they will be increasing the duration of power cuts in Tamilnadu from 2 to 3 hours daily. Chennai will also be included in the list as they will have power cut for 1 hour everyday. Read the article below for more information .

    Power cut to be extended in Tamilnadu in coming months


    As per Tamilnadu Electricity Board directive there will be severe power shortage in Tamilnadu. They are planning to extend the 2 hours power cut time to 3 hours each day in Tamilnadu.Chennai which was an exception in this case will also face power cuts in the coming months. they are planning for a 1 hour power cut in Chennai. Tamilnadu electricity Board (TNEB) had announced that inspite of getting power supply from other states there is a severe power shortage in Tamilnadu. This has prompted them to increase the duration of power cut by 1 hour in Tamilnadu.

    Chennai which was not facing power cuts until now will not be spared this time. It is proposed that Chennai will have a power cut for 1 hour untill the situation is under control. Tamilnadu is spending about 50 crores per day to buy electricity from other states. Inspite of this there is sever power shortage in Tamilnadu. The shortage of power will continue until electricity through windmill is bought from other states. This is expected to happen in coming months.

    Chennai can expect power cut anytime between 8 am to 6 pm each day. Hope the situation comes under control very soon as it will be difficult to manange during summer.

    Hi,

    In cuddalore, the power cut time was already 3 hours for the past one month. In addition to that they cut power for about half an hour daily morning and evening. So its already going on as 4 hours a day here in cuddalore.
