Tamilnadu assembly elections 2011 Repoll conducted in Eight polling booths in Tamilnadu
As per the Election Commission directive re-polling was conducted in eight places in Tamilnadu. The re-polling was conducted either due to defect in counting of votes in Electronic Voting Machines (EVM), physical damage to EVMs and boycott by voters due to polling booths at wrong place. The places where re-polling was done on April 16, 2011 are
Polling booth in Neyvelli in Cuddalore district
Pollin booth in Killiyoor in Kanyakumari district
Pooling booth in Thiruvidaimarudur in Thanjavur district
Pooling booth in Arni in Thiruvannamalai district
Pooling booth in Bodinaicknaur in Theni district and
Pooling booth in Puliyampatti in Tirunelveli district
The re-polling went successfully in all the above mentioned areas. About 6,018 voters in a total of 7,401 voted in the eight polling booths that went for re-poll. This comes to around 82% of voter turnout in all the eight polling booths.
