    Sathanur Dam Tiruvannamalai Tamilnadu is an important picnic spot situated very close to Tiruvannamalai. There will be large tourist crowd during season time. This is very good tourist place for family entertainment and relaxation

    Sathanur dam is situated 32kn from Tiruvannamalai. The dam at Satanur across the river Ponni is set amidst hills and picturesque surroundings in a reserved forest area. The left bank end of the masonry dam provides an attractive view of the lake and its surroundings. The site below the dam has been developed into an attractive garden with a swimming pool and looks like a miniature Brindavan garden of Mysore. There is a zoo inside the park; it is the main attraction for kids. There is a spacious gusts house at the dam site and a dormitory with all modern facilities. This is an excellent place for picnic.
