The Marutham tree is the favorite tree of this god; it is believed that due to the growth of Marutham trees in this place, lord Muruga started to stay in this place. This place is also called Marundhumalai. Marundhu means medicine and malai is Hill. Here you can find so many kinds of medicinal plants hence the nane Marundhumalai. Avinashi Shiva Temple Coimbatore

Avinashi Shiva Temple is situated 45km from Coimbatore city. Avinashi Shiva Temple is a popular place in Coimbatore temple tour. This temple is also known by various names as Pukkaliyar temple, Dakshini temple, and Dakshina prayag temple. The Avinaseshwara in the shrine is said to be a self manifesting Linga. Thirumurthy Temple Coimbatore

The distance of Thirumurthy temple from Udulalpet, Coimbatore is just 20km.
