Preparation of the batter to make Tamil Recipe Masala Kuzhipaniyaram

Idly rice-1 cup
Raw rice-1 cup
Urud dhal-1/4 cup
Fenugreek seed-1 table spoon
Soak all the above ingredients for 3 hours and grind well in preferably in a grinder. Add salt and allow it to ferment for about 8 hours.

Ingredients needed for making Tamil Recipe Masala Kuzhipaniyaram

Small onions - 1/2 cup (finely chopped)
Green chilies - 3
A sprig of Curry leaves
Grated coconut - 2 tbsp
Mustard seed - 1/2 tsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp

Procedure for making Tamil Recipe Masala Kuzhipaniyaram

chatti1. Take oil in the kadai, add the mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves.

2. Next add the finely chopped onions, green chilies and the grated coconut.

3. Now add all these into the batter and mix well.

4. Next take the kuzhipaniyaram vessel and add oil to all the holes and keep aside for 15 minutes for the oil to coat.

5. Keep the vessel in the stove in low heat and pour some more oil, after the oil gets heated add the batter such that it should not fill the whole hole.

6. Close the vessel and after sometime open and turn the paniyarams using the stick provided. Pour some more oil. Always remember to keep in medium flame.

Now the Tamil Recipe Masala Kuzhipaniyaram is ready to be served. It tastes well with Thakkali Chutney.
