Kodaikanal is one of the most beautiful hill stations in Tamil Nadu. As per history Kodaikanal hill resort was discovered in 19th Century. The regular road traffic was opened during 1920s. Sightseeing Place at Kodaikanal - The Lake
The lake is wonderful sightseeing place in kodaikanal. The lake is suited at the distance of 3 kms for Kodaikanal bus stand, it is 10 deg 14'n latitude and 77 deg 28' longitudes at an elevation of 2285m above sea level and it is star shaped lake. The boat house provides boat for hire. Rs. 20 for two seated pedal boat and Rs. 125 for multi seated covered kasmiri shikara boat for 30 minutes. The lake is spread over 60 Acres, the maximum depth of the lake is 11.5 m (approximately) .
Sightseeing Place at Kodaikanal - Coaker's Walk
Coaker's walk is a narrow pedestrian path constructed by Lt. Coaker in the year 1872. Coaker's walk is just about one kilometer from the lake and it was laid across the Bryant Park which runs along a steep, green wooded slope, winding around Mt. Nebo. A walk along this path will give a wonderful view of many places such as Valley of the Pamba River in South East, Dolphin's nose in south, etc. There is entrance ticket for coaker's walk Rs. 2 per person and Rs. 5 for camera. There is a Telescope House here , from here tourist can see entire kodaikanal and wonderful mist of kodaikanal, this will be a sweet surprise to our eyes. Entrance ticket for Telescope House is Rs. 3/- Timing for Coaker's Walk : 07:00 AM to 07:00 PM
Sightseeing Place at Kodaikanal - Bryant Park
Bryant Park is a botanical garden, which has lot and lot of wounderful flowers, plants and trees. This will be a unforgettable place to everyone who visit Bryant Park. This garden has wide variety of unseen flowers and plants. Every year May month there is a exhibition conducted by the department of Horticulture, kodaikanal. This exhibition will be a feast to our eyes.
Sightseeing Place at Kodaikanal - Green Valley View Green valley view is commonly known as Suicide Point. It is suited on the route of Pillar Rock. This is very deep and dangerous place and suited about 5.5 kms from the lake of kodaikanal. Green valley view has more than 5000 ft steep drop from this point. From this point we can have nice view of whole beauty of kodaikanal. The name has been changed to Green valley view from Suicide point due to prevent people to commit suicide.
Sightseeing Place at Kodaikanal - Kurinji Andavar Temple
Kurinji Andavar Temple is suited 3 kms from the Lake. This temple was built in the year 1936 by an European Lady who came to India. She Loved Hindu religion very much so she planned to built a dedicated temple Lord Muruga and here he is called as Kurinji Andavar. This name is on because of Kuriniji Flower, which blossoms once in 12 years. So Lord muruga in this temple is also referred as 'Sri Kurinji Easware'. The last blossom of this Flower was on the year 2006. The next blossom will be at 2018.

Sree Meenakshi Amman temple is one of the historic temples which is located in Madurai. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva who is known here as Meenakshi Sundareshwarar and Goddess Parvathi who is known here as Meenakshi Amman. Meenakshi Amman kovil is 2500 years old temple, which has 14 Gopurams or towers including 2 Golden towers for main deities. As per legend, the sacred Suyambulingam discovered by Indira,the king of Gods at Kadambavanam later he built a temple in Madurai and enshrined that suyambulingam in that temple, that is Sree Meenakshi Temple. The King Kulasekara Pandyan built the temple in 1600, but in later the temple was developed by Nayak dynasty. The holiest places in this temple are "Pond with golden lotus (Porthamarai Kulam)", "Thousand Pillar Hall",and "Ashta Shakthi Mandabam". The most important festivals associated with this temple are "Meenakshi Tirukalyanam" which is celebrated in April every year, Teppa Thiruvizhah and Navarathiri. In the year 2009 Thirukudamulukku has been happened in Meenakshi Amman Temple.
