    The media will play as watch dog for Elections in Tamil Nadu,Chief Election Commissioner annouces that media play important role in election 2011 against any malpractices, violation of model code of conduct by any plotical party.

    The Chief Election Commissioner of India, Shri.S Y Quarishi informed that media will play a important role against any violation or malpractices of any party and the reports of the media will be considered as a formal complaint against any party which violates the model code of conducts or any malpractices during the Election in Tamil Nadu and other states in India. Mr.Quarishi describes that the media will be treated as Election Commission's Eyes, would be a smart strategy to spot misconduct and usher in transparency and accountability to the country's electoral process.

    But In practical, in many cases the media gives the wrong information to mislead a case to benefit some high profile persons or may fabricate a false story against particular party to get public attention for vote banking purpose. As we know in Tamil Nadu every party owns the media like new papers, TVs under their control to mislead the public for getting the vote. Hence the Chief Election Commissioner can't trust the media reports as a formal complaint which may allow to implicate a case on any party for vote banking.

    Let us wait and watch how this works in the upcoming election in Tamil Nadu and other parts of India.
