Genelia was a model before she had started her career with acting. When she hd acted with Amitabh bachan for parker pen add, she was noticed. Then, she got her first chance in acting in the Hindi movie called as Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003. After that She has acted in several languages like Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam language films. She is strongly recoganized for her Tamil film "Boys" by director Shankar. This movie was a big hit by Genelia which had made her to be recognized her as "Boys Harini" after the name of the charachter she played in the film Boys.
