    Adyar Poonga is one of the best picnic spot in Chennai. It is popularly called Adyar Poonga, ECO Park and Tholkappiya Poonga. The name itself denotes the location of Adyar Poonga. It is in Adyar, Chennai.

    The construction of this Eco-park was by Government of Tamil Nadu and Tamil Nadu Road Development Corporation (TNRDC). Adyar Poonga was opened for tourists view on 15th February 2011. This is a park constructed by aiming the ecological nature of the ecosystem. This Eco park is a great model for environment sustainable things for water collection, maintenance and preservation of water resources in the form of small ponds, lakes, horizontal channels and water ways.
