Spencer Plaza is one of the famous shopping in Chennai which is situated in Anna Salai. If you are looking for a famous landmark in Chennai, it is the one. This mall was constructed in the year 1985 and considered as the oldest shopping mall in India.
Initially this mall was constructed in the year 1863-1864 by british people Charles Durant and J. W. Spencer. But this building was destroyed in fire in the year 1985. Then again this Splencer Plaza Chennai was built on the same sute. This mall was developed by Mangal Tirth Estate Limited.
 Spencer Plaza is divided into 3 phases, Phase I, Phase II, Phase III
Among these Spencer Plaza phases, Phase III is the most recently opened. The Plaza consists of so many number of stores which deals with goods of many major brands and also the local brands. It also has retail shops of jewelery, merchandise, clothes etc.
