Singapore Mathematics Olympiad in Chennai

Department of Mathematics of National University of Singapore is organizing a competition named Singapore Mathematics Olympiad in the last week of May 2011. This competition has two sections named Junior and Senior sections. Total0 students are allowed to write Singapore Mathematics Olympiad Examination out of which 20 should be from Senior and 20 should be from Junior group. Students pursuing training for Singapore Mathematics Olympiad by Nehru Children's Cultural Association are also eligible for taking participate.

Training for Singapore Mathematics Olympiad

The training for this mega event will be started from 22 January 2011 to 25 May 2011. 13 to 16 year students are eligible for Junior section and 15 to 16 year students for senior section.

Venue and Timing for Training for Singapore Mathematics Olympiad

The Venue of training for Singapore Mathematics Olympiad is Kesari Higher Secondary School, Mylapore and the it commenced in all Saturdays (between 5 p.m and 7 p.m) and Sundays from 8 a.m to 12.15 p.m.

Age limit for participating in Singapore Mathematics Olympiad

The applicant should not burn before January 2, 1997 who want to be in Junior Section and the senior section applicant should be burned between January 2, 1995 to January 1, 1997.

Examination Pattern for Singapore Mathematics Olympiad

There will be 25 open-ended questions with 10 multiple choice questions and each contains five option.
Syllabus for junior section in Singapore Mathematics Olympiad is number theory, pattern recognition, geometry, basic combinatorial, probability, Pythagoras theorem, Linear equation and algebra.
Syllabus for senior section in Singapore Mathematics Olympiad include number theory, algebra, geometry, permutation and combination, Binomial theorem, trigonometry, Logarithms, Quadratic equation and sequences and series.
