Valentine day is the related the story of Valentine who lived in Rome when the Emperor Claudius II was ruling the country. This story of Valentine day is a heartbreaking one. The Emperor Claudius II was wished to make his army stronger. For this purpose He had to recruit more soldiers from the country. But unfortunately younger in the country were not ready to join in the military of Emperor Claudius II. He started to seek that why the men in the country were not willing to join army with him. Finally he found that everybody is strongly affectionate with their wives, lady love and their families.
Then Claudius decided to ban all marriages and engagements in Rome to get more strength in his army. A priest named Valentine who was romantic at heart, has started to help the young boys and girls to do marriages in secret and disregarded Claudius’s unfair and heartless order. Eventually Claudius found this insolence from priest Valentine and he put him in prison. Later on February 14 in about 270 AD, romantic priest Valentine was hanged by the Emperor Claudius. Then Valentine was called as Saint. Valentine honoring his great service. For his great remembrance that day onwards Valentine was named a saint after his death.
Later years Saint Valentine was known as the patron saint of love and lovers in England and France. In 498 AD, Pope Gelasius decided to replace pagan celebration of Feast of Lupercalia by celebrating St Valentine's Day on 14 February. Fr, he declared that 14th February be celebrated as. From then onwards every year February 14 started to celebrate as Valentines day in Tamilnadu.
