Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam whose full name is Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. He is a very good innovator and visionary of India. He was a notable engineer who went on to become the President of India. He was very popular with the people while he was the President of India and he had been referred to as People's President. Dr Kalam is very simple in looking manner and also a very honest man.

The Birth and Study of Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was born in a middle class family in Rameshwaram in the year 1931.It is one of the best tourist places in Tamil Nadu located in south part of Tamil Nadu. Dr Kalam completed his school studies in Rameshwaram. He earned money himself for his study through the news paper distribution in his area. After completed his school study in Rameshwaram, Dr Kalam went to Chennai for his higher study. Dr Kalam graduated from Madras Institute of Technology majoring in Aeronautical Engineering because it was the aim of Dr Kalam to become an Aeronautical Engineer.

The Career and Profession of Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam started his carrier as a scientist in Space Administration in the year 1957. He rendered his service to the benefit of our country in various positions for the past 45 years. He went to National Aeronautical Space Administration(NASA and had done many research work for the space administration during his period of service. He had worked as a senior scientist with various Rockets and Satellites launching projects in India like AGNI, PSLV, PRITHIVI and etc. As a Project Director, Dr Kalam made significant contributions to the development of India's first Indigenous Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV III). He also acted as Chief Executive of Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP) and also played major part in developing many missiles of India including AGNI and PRITHIVI. He was the Chief Scientific Adviser to Government of India when India tested the nuclear bomb for the second time.

As a scholar of Tamil literature, he has written many books like "Wings of Fire", "The Vision of India 2020" and Guiding Souls: Dialogue on the purpose of Life. He has been awarded by the Padma Bushan in 1981, Padma Vibhushan in 1990 and Bharatha Ratna in 1997 which is the biggest award in India. He is popularly called as "Missile Man of India".
