    Long back the kings of Great Kingdoms were celebrating the New Year’s day whenever they need entertainment. But , the Great roman King Julius Caesar decided to celebrate New Year’s Day on on 1st of January .

    Reason to celebrate New Year Day on 1st January


    Long back the kings of Great Kingdoms were celebrating the New Year's day whenever they need entertainment. But , the Great roman King Julius Caesar decided to celebrate New Year's Day on on 1st of January from 46 BC . When Julius Caesar planned to make Julian calendar
    He decided to celebrate first day of January as a New year day. In the Julian calendar the first year had 445 days.

    Beliefs of Tamilians of different places in Tamilnadu about New year's day events


    • What we do at midnight of New year's day will be continuing throughout year.

    • The person who is coming first to home on New Year 's Day can bring
    luck.

    • People will not wash cloths and clean home on that day. If they do, luck will be gone .

    • We do not borrow money or giving money back on New Year 's Day. If we do throughout the year it continues.

    • Work hard on New Year 's Day so that whole year could do the same.

    • Helping others on New Year 's Day will be more helpful throughout year.

    So Help others and enjoy the New year 2012.
