Now a days many Tamil Channels are available in Tamil Nadu. Sun TV was first Tamil channel which was owned by private and it was started in the year of 1992.

1. DD 1 - Indian Government's Channel.

Sun Network Channels

Kalanidhi Maran is the founder of Sun Network channels. This is second biggest Television network in India. Sun Network has the channels in all the Southern languages. Sun Network Group is listed in India's 2 biggest Stock Exchanges namely NSE and BSE.

1.Sun TV - Sun TV is a general family entertainment channel. It is the first private channel which was started in the year of 1992.

2.K TV – K TV is fully dedicated for Movies. Previously it was called as Sun Movies.

3.Sun Music – Sun Music is dedicated to Music. Previously it was called as SCV.

4.Adithya TV – Adithya is the first Channel in India which is dedicated to Comedy alone.

5.Sun News – Sun News was started in the year of 2000.

6.Chutti TV – Chutty TV is dedicated to Children.

Kalaignar Network has the following channels.

1.Kalaignar TV – It is a general entertainment channel.

2.Isai Aruvi – Name itself tells us that it is a music channel.

3.Siripoli – Dedicated channel for Comedy
