Mor Kuzhambu (Buttermilk Sambar) is a popular traditional South Indian Tamil Recipe. You can add any vegetables like Lady's finger, Poosanikai, Clusterbeans to make it nutritious. Tamil Recipe Mor kuzhambu comes in handy for a quick fix meal as it can be prepared easily. It tastes great with plain steamed rice accompanied with Tamil Recipe Paruppu Usili.

Ingredients Required for Tamil Recipe Mor Kuzhambu

  • Toor dal - 1 tablespoon
  • Buttermilk - 1 cup
  • Coriander seed - 1 tsp
  • Cummin Seed (Jeeragam) - 1 tsp
  • Coconut grated- 2 tablespoon
  • Green chillies - 2
  • Red chillies - 2
  • Mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves - a few
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Lady's finger - 1
  • Oil for cooking
  • Salt to taste

    Method: How to Make Tamil Recipe Mor Kuzhambu

    1. Soak bengal gram dal, cummin seed and green chillies in water for few minutes.How to Make Tamil Recipe Mor Kuzhambu

    2. When well soaked grind it in mixer grinder added with grated coconut to a fine paste.

    3. Mix the grounded paste in buttermilk and add a pinch of turmeric powder.

    4. Heat oil in a pan and fry chopped lady's finger (chopped into 1 inch long piece) till it becomes crispy. Keep it aside.

    5. Heat oil in a fry pan season it with mustard, urad dal, red chillies, curry leaves and add buttermilk mixture and make it to a boil.

    6. When boiled add roasted lady's finger to it and add salt to taste, mix well and remove from heat.

    7. Garnish with coriander leaves. Yummy Tamil Recipe Morkuzhambu is ready in minutes.
