    This Kolam competition in Tamilnadu is given a great importance during the margazhi season and moreover the kolam competition has its own significance and specialty. In the kolam competition the ladies in the house join together to show their skills in the kolam designing. The kolam design is made in front of every house and the ladies enroll themselves for the competition. And moreover the thinking and the creating the design also increases the creativity of the ladies. There are also many advantages in the Kolam designs.

    The kolam competition is held in a ground and even in front of the house. In some places in Tamilnadu the kolam competition is also held inside the temple. The kolam design can also be said as the offering that is done to god in the form of the design. The Kolam competition in Tamilnadu is very famous near the temples which are known as the Agraharam. The winner is selected based on the best kolam design that is made and moreover the winner is honored based on the skill they are implementing in the kolam design. The winners are given a special prize that they can use for their house cooking or any house hold items.

    The Kolam competition is famous with the house wife and also with the grandmother present in the house. And the girls who are present in the house will also provide suggestions to the other ladies in the kolam construction. Mostly the kolam with some social awareness message will get good recognition than the other kolam.
