* Rice - uncooked rice 2 cup
* Roasted Green gram dal 1 cup
* Salt - to taste
* Ghee and Oil - 5 teaspoons
* Water - as required to cook pongal
Ingredients Required for Ven Pongal Recipe Tamil Style seasoning
* Cashew nuts - 15
* Red chilies - 4
* Hing - 1/2 teaspoon
* Cumin seeds - 4 teaspoon
* Peppercorns - 3 teaspoon
* Curry leaves - little
Ven Pongal Recipe Tamil Style Preparation
1. Take a pan and heat ghee or oil, add split green gram dal and roast until it turns into golden colour. Keep it aside
2.Take uncooked rice and wash along with roasted dal.
3. Take a Pressure cooker put the Rice and dal together(adding 5 cups of water) and cook to get 3 whistles.
3. Take another pan put little Ghee Cashew nuts and roast till it turns into golden colour.
4.With this add Red chilies, Cumin seeds, Peppercorns, Hing and Curry leaves, stir for 1 or 2 minutes.
5. After the seasoning ingredients fried well mix this to cooked ven pongal and mix.Ven Pongal Recipe Tamil Style Preparation is Ready.
