Ingredients Required for Tamilnadu Sweet Pongal Recipe Preparation
Raw rice - 2 cup
Split moong dal - 1 cup
Jaggery - 2 cups
Fresh Milk - 3 cups
Water - 2 cups
Saffron strands - 1 pinch
Cardamom powder - 11/2 teaspoon
cashews fried in Ghee 20 in Number
Ghee - 1 cup
Dried Grapes 20 in Number
Tamilnadu Sweet Pongal Recipe Preparation
Tamilnadu Sweet Pongal Recipe perparation is very simple.
Roast the rice and dal together in medium flame, if you pleasant stop roasting.
Take a pressure cooker add the dry roasted rice and dal, then add saffron strands, milk, water and mix gently.
Pressure cook the rice and Dal as like regular rice or if you put whistle one whistle is enough. The cooked rice will be soft and mushy.
Take a wide bottomed heavy pan, heat the Jaggery by adding half a cup water.Addition of Jaggery gives Traditional TamilNadu Food Taste.
When the jaggery starts melting, now reduce the flame to sim and add the cooked rice little by little mixing continuously.
Then Add the cardamom powder, cashews, dry grapes and ghee. Stir continuously to get even distribution.
