Tamil Recipe Masala Dosai or Masal Dosa is originated from South India especially from Tamil Nadu. Dosai is one of the easiet tiffin that you can make for either breakfast or at Dinner. Tamil Recipe Dosai or Dosas is the favourite for many not only in Tamil Nadu but throughout India and even indeed popular all over the world. The Batter of dosai is made from rice and lentils that is rich in protein. Mouthwatering aroma of the masala stuffing inside the dosai enriches the taste. Different types of dosai can be made, but the feather added to the Crown will be Tamil Recipe Masala Dosai.

Ingredients Required to Make Tamil Recipe Masala Dosai:

Rice - 2 cups
Urad dal - 1 cup
Ghee or oil

Ingredients for the Stuffing Masala:
Potatoes - 1/2 kilo
Carrots - 4
Ginger - 1 small piece grated
Onion - 1 big
Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoonful
Oil for seasoning.

How to make Tamil Recipe Dosai:

Soak the rice and dal separately in two vessels for 4 to 5 hours. Grind the rice and dal separately,to make very fine, smooth paste. Add salt to taste. Mix both pastes thoroughly.

This kind of dosai should not be sour and the batter should not be allowed to ferment. Therefore if the dough is prepared in the morning, dosais may be made in the same evening.

Heat a tava on a slow and steady fire. Spread a little pure ghee on tava and on this pour a ladleful of batter. Spread evenly into very thin layer. The more thinner the more tastier it will be.

When one side is done, remove carefully from tava and turn over on the other side. Apply ghee or oil lavishly on both sides of the dosai.

When both sides are crisp and golden brown, remove from tava and serve hot with masala stuffing.

Prepare the masala stuffing before making the dosais. Wash, peel and boil the potatoes along with carrot.

Cut the onion, ginger, and chillies very finely. Mash the cooked vegetables well. Add a pinch of turmeric powder to the mashed vegetables.

In a frying pan heat one teaspoonful of oil and put in the mustard seeds. When the mustard seeds splutter add the chopped onion, ginger, chillies and curry leaves and stir for a while.

Now add the mashed vegetables and salt and mix thoroughly. The juice of lime may be added according to individual taste.

Remove from fire and keep aside. Now prepare the dosais as explained above. Spread two tablespoonfuls of masala in the centre of each dosai and fold over.

Now your delicious Crispy Tamil Recipe Masala Dosai is ready to serve and enjoy it with Tamil Recipe Sambar and Coconut Chutney.
