Ingredients Required to Prepare Tamil Nadu Sambar Recipe


1 cup of Toor dal
1/2 cup mixed Vegetables(medium sized piece)
50 ml tamarind juice
10 pearls of small onions
2 Tomatoes (cut into small pieces)
4 Green Chillies
Pinch of Turmeric powder
2 Tbsp Sambar powder (MTR Sambar powder or sakthi sambar powder)
a pinch of asafoetida for flavor
Salt to taste

2/4 Tsp Mustard
2/2 Tsp Urud Dal
2/8 Tsp of cleaned Fenugreek Seeds
Curry Leaves as required
3 Red Chillies
4 Tbsp oil

Tamil Recipe Sambar Preparation is quite easy and it tastes well.
Clean, wash and cook the Toor Dal by using pressure cooker (add enough water to cook). Mash the Toor dal like a paste and keep aside.

Take a pan, heat oil and add all Sambar Recipe seasoning ingredients (mustard seeds, urud dal, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves and 3 red chillies and fry well.

Then add Tamil Nadu Sambar Recipe ingredients (green chillies, mixed vegetables, salt to taste and mix well. After the vegetables are cooked properly, pour tamarind juice and stir till the raw smell of Tamarind goes off.

This is the time to mix the sambar powder, the exact taste of Tamil Nadu Recipe Sambar, depends on the quality of Sambar power you used. There are so many good brands in Sambar Powder, it advised to use either MTR Sambar powder or Sakthi sambar Powderto get Tamil Nadu style Sambar with excellent Taste.

Home made Sambar podi or Home made Sambar powder recipe can also be used to get nice taste.

Then add a pinch of asafoetida boiling Sambar mixture and stir for a minute. Then add the mashed Toor dal and leave a minute mix. The smell and taste of Tamil Recipe Sambar is peculiar.

Finely chopped coriander leaves are used to Garnish Tamil Recipe Sambar.
Tamil Recipe Sambar tastes good when served hot with ghee.

Tamilnadu Idli sambar Recipe and Sambar Rice Recipe are more popular among the Tourists who visit Tamilnadu.
