In 18-7-1967 the state Legislative Assembly has changed the Name of the state as 'Tamilnadu' from 'Chennai Maanilam (Chennai State)'
Tamil as a Ruling Language is encouraged here.And, Special Neon Sign Boards Indicating that 'Thamizh Vazhga' has been erected in every Government Organzations.

The Tamilnadu Government Symbol is 'Srivilliputhur Temple Structure'. And above that Structure, a tag line is indicated as'thamizhnadu arasanagam (tamilnadu state).And below that Temple Structure our National symbol is drawn on both ends our National Flag is available. At the Bottom a phrase indicates 'vaymaye vellum' (Truth Alone Triumph).
