TANCET 2012 M.Tech./ M.E./ M.Arch./ M.Plan Question Paper Pattern

As we all know TANCET stands for Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test and conducts by Anna University Chennai. All students who want to pursue higher education after B'tech and other degree can enroll for MCA, M.Tech, MBA, M.Arch or M.E, M.Plan The test is conducted at various centers on 1st of April, 2012, Sunday, 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon.

The question paper of M.Tech./ M.E./ M.Arch./ M.Plan exam will have 3 parts, and should be completed in 2 hrs (120 Minutes).

Part - I : Engineering Mathematics
The candidate should attempt this section compulsory. This part will have 30 objective type questions and the candidates should answer all of them. Marks for the correct answer is + 1 and -1/4 for negative answer. Maximum marks that you can score form this section is 30.

Part - II : Basic Engineering & Sciences
Basic Engineering & Sciences part will have 45 objective type questions. Candidates have an options to choose 30 questions. It means that the candidates should answer a minimum of 30 questions. Marks for the correct answer is + 1 and -1/4 for negative answer. Maximum marks that you can score form this section is 30. Multiple shading will be considered as wrong answer.

Part - III Specialization
This is the part where students have to choose their disciplines separately. This section consists of 14 sections in various disciplines, like Civil Engg., Mechanical Engg., etc. Each discipline paper have 40 objective type questions. Out of 4 possible answers candidate has to choose one correct answer. Marks for the correct answer is + 1 and -1/4 for negative answer. Maximum marks that you can score form this section is 40. Multiple shading will be considered as wrong answer.

The TANCET will be conducted in various centres in Chennai, Coimbatore, Erode, Karaikudi, Tirunelveli, Vellore, Chidambaram, Salem, Thanjavur, Villupuram, Virudhunagar, Nagercoil, Madurai and Karaikudi, a university press release said.
